If you’re looking for a tall glass of beer after a long, hard day, Beertown is the perfect place to go. Beertown has been a staple restaurant chain in Canada for over a decade, providing independently-brewed craft beer along with an ever changing mouthwatering menu. Oakville’s very own Beertown is located at the intersection between Trafalgar and Cornwall.

Beertown has an incredibly wide choice of starter options. Yearlong, you’re free to help yourselves to wings ($18.50), calamari ($19), fish tacos ($14), and more. For us, the highlight of their starters are their poutine. Beertown takes great pride in their poutine, going as far as to label theirs as ‘Proper Poutine’ ($13). This consists of fresh russet fries and cheese curds drowned in beef gravy. For an extra seven dollars, you can add smoked brisket with truffle aoili for a unique flavour enhancement.

Beertown’s burgers and sandwiches are incredibly popular, and for good reason. The buns are perfectly toasted, the patties are exploding with flavour, and each topping is added with perfect care. Best of all – they go together perfectly with a glass of beer! We recommend the Beer’ville Hot Chicken Sandwich ($21), and the Brie, Bacon + Black Truffle Burger ($23.50) as shown in the picture below.

Brunch

On weekends, Beertown serves brunch! Head on over from 10 AM to 2 PM to explore their delicious brunch menu. First, you should definitely check out their Brewer’s Breakfast ($16.50). 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, beans, fries, and a pile of toast – everything you could possible want for breakfast. This’ll be sure to kick your morning into gear.

For sweet options, Beertown has the famously desired Chicken and Waffles ($20). Outrageously crispy buttermilk-brined chicken breast, bacon crumble and toasted almonds are placed neatly on top of a Belgian waffle and drizzled with Kentucky Bourbon Syrup.

Beertown has plenty of sweets & treats available in gluten friendly and vegan options. You can find brownies ($6.50), ice cream ($6), pudding ($10) and fruit crumbles ($9.50) to dig into after your meal. Our favourite is their Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake ($10), with smooth whipped cream and a crunchy chocolate cookie crust.

If you’re looking for a lively place to hang out with friends, Monaghan’s Sports Pub and Grill fits the bill. From food & drink to live music and events, Monaghan’s has all of the ingredients for a good night out.

Not only does Monaghan’s have a number of screens to take in the big game, but they also have the perfect assortment of fried offerings to enjoy it with, including: fried calamari ($17.50), onion rings ($12), potato skins ($13), and mozzarella sticks ($15.50). The highlight is Monaghan’s famous roaster wings (10 for $20) which have 26 different flavours to pick from.

What would a pub be without fish and chips? Monaghan’s beer-battered haddock ($18) is fried until crisp and served with fries & coleslaw. You should also try their buttermilk chicken tenders ($19) if you can’t get enough of that deep-fried, golden-brown shell.

On Saturday nights, Monaghan’s hosts live music concerts where local musicians perform. Here, they dim the lights and set the stage for talented singers, guitarists, and bands alike. Who knows? A night at Monaghan’s may introduce you to your new favourite band.

Pearl has been making award-winning Chinese food for over three decades. With an abundant menu, hard working staff, and timeless recipes, this restaurant is worth recommending.

Pearl’s daily Dim Sum menu is available from 11AM to 4PM. You’re encouraged to order many different dishes. Some highlights include Har Kau ($11), Chicken Feet ($8), Crispy Shrimp Rolls ($11), and Pan-Fried Green Onion Pancake ($8).

If you have the appetite for something more fulsome, try their 4-piece spring rolls ($8) or their tasty Sweet & Sour Pork ($27) which pairs perfectly with rice. For a more luxurious experience, try their Braised Lobster ($96) set on a bed of noodles.

Pearl’s standout is the chef’s special Peking Duck ($95). This succulent plateful of roasted duck has exceptionally crispy skin and comes with Hoisin sauce, prawn chips, cucumbers, and scallions. The duck and its fixings are enfolded in a small thin pancake called Chun Bing creating one delicious morsel.

Kori’s Roti has been serving passionately made authentic Trinidadian cuisine for almost forty years. If you’re looking for a taste of the Caribbean, this is THE place to go in Oakville.

Before you order at Kori’s, we’ll have to warn you about their spice levels. There are eight levels on their pepper scale, starting from mild and ending with suicide. Most customers tend to go for a touch or touch+, which are just a couple levels above mild. Go beyond that territory and may find yourself really struggling – we’re speaking from experience.

Every Roti shop has a different recipe, and Kori’s has a hint of Indian taste in theirs. Each Roti has potatoes and a choice of chicken, beef, goat or shrimp that is doused in a curry-like sauce and wrapped with flaky paratha flatbread. This combination results in an explosion of flavours with each bite. Size options include Full Size and Small (which is about 3/4 of the full-size).

If you’d prefer something a little less messy, you can try one of their rice dishes. The choice of meat is the same as the options for Roti, with the additions of Jerk Chicken, Mixed Vegetable, Chick Pea, and Pumpkin. The image below is a big Full Size Chicken Rice Dish. If you’re looking for a lighter lunch, you could choose to get the Half Size option instead.

Finally, what would a Caribbean restaurant be without Jamaican Patties? Kori’s is partnered with Michidean’s classic authentic Jamaican Patties. If you’re looking to quickly snatch a delicious bite, these are perfect.

Kori’s Roti is a friendly restaurant with delicious Trinidadian food – there’s no wonder why they’re so popular. It’s a super popular lunch spot – just be sure to check their operating hours before making your way to Speers Road.

Just a few streets east of Sixth Line on the North Service Road, you’ll find a little Jamaican restaurant in an unassuming plaza.  Initially, Oakville’s first Jamaican restaurant, this flavourful Caribbean take-out destination recently celebrated 20 years. Of course, they serve Jerk Chicken, but their menu is also rich with variations of Roti (goat, shrimp, chicken, veg, and chickpea), sides (like Plantains and Cocobread – coconut milk bread that’s savoury and a little sweet), plus a selection of full meals, soups, stews, and even Jamaican sodas. This family-run business helpins with cooking, serving, and anything else needed, which is part of their recipe for success. For a full-flavour meal with a family touch, don’t miss Irie.
